Kona Kase Samples…

I am a little behind on blogging about the samples, however that’s just because I wanted to make sure I give you the lowdown on each thing including what their websites say each item is geared towards.  I’m going to list them in order of preference so far, excluding two that I have yet to try.

1.  Powerbar Gel Chocolate – Some would be not be surprised that this would be my favorite, as I use this to train all the time.  A little blurb about when I use Powerbar Gel’s, when I am doing a run longer than an hour and typically anything that will be 90 minutes long outside of a swim.  Powerbar Gel’s are by far my favorite b/c of the consistency (not too thick, except for chocolate in winter), the flavors (double latte is my #1), the different caffeinated types for those who choose to utilize that paticular perk, and most importantly they work with my GI system.  The sodium and electrolytes and calories are all similar to other gels, however this just works best for me.  Check out their other flavors at www.powerbar.com .  They have a host of other products as well.

2.  SmartyPants Gummy Vitamins – Okay, this could definitely take place of candy.  These things are AWESOME taste wise, I even took a double dose by accident b/c I didn’t read the instructions clearly enough.  They aren’t too chewy, much softer than the candy Dots but so YUMMY.  I’m in love and this will be on my Christmas list wish.  They even make them for kids, so maybe I will buy some for my little guy.  Directly from their website, here is a list of the perks of this product:

3.  Nature’s Bakery Whole Wheat Fig Bar – Major plus for me, it came in on bag but had two different bars inside one.  Eat one now, eat one a little bit later.  The flavor I received was Mango and I truly enjoyed the taste.  Now, if you’ve never had whole wheat type bars I’m unsure as to whether this is the bar for you but I’m a fan of whole wheat.  I could see myself eating this on a long bike ride.  The texture was soft like a cereal bar yet tasty and filling.  For more info on their products go to http://naturesbakery.com/product/whole-wheat-fig-bars .

4.  Mazamabar Hazelnut Mocha – This was a tie for #3.  This bar was mocha hazelnut (two favs of mine), and a little high in calories so I substituted it for a small meal but boy was it worth it.  There were pieces of the bar that were melted and kind of like a hot chocolate chip cookie.  The bar was extremely filling unlike some higher calorie ones (410), but the taste was great.  The first bite I wasn’t sure, but the more I ate the more I was a fan……and happy it was a meal.  Their website even lists the top 10 reasons why you should be ordering their product, good advertising http://www.mazamabar.com/index.php/about-us/why-were-better

6.  Chia Bar Apple Cinnamon – Okay, so maybe I’m just not a fan of Chia Seeds but this was awful.  So awful that I took two bites and decided it wasn’t for me.  Like I said, I don’t know that it’s the product being bad just me not being a fan of Chia seeds and never knowing it.  Their website is http://healthwarrior.com/what-is-chia/ .  If you’d like to know more about this product:
