STORY:
The Dean Batson Legacy ride was started in 2011 to raise money for a college fund for Dean’s two children, Emily and Parks. Dean Batson has been fighting stage 4 renal cell carcinoma since 2008 when he was diagnosed at age 38. Through a series of treatments and clinical studies, he has been able to fight the disease thus far, but his disease is terminal.
Through his dedication, ministry, and hard work at both Berea High School and Greenville County Recreation District, Dean has touched many people. The Dean Batson Legacy event is an opportunity for those who have known Dean to say thank you and for those who haven’t had the pleasure of knowing him personally to support a family who has been through and will continue to face the hardest of circumstances.
